Ballet Mistress

Mrs. Startsman received her training with the Canton Ballet and went on to earn a degree in Dance from the University of Akron. She continued training with the Ohio Ballet and in New York City with Nancy Bielski and Robert Blankshine. Ms. Startsman has performed with the Canton Ballet, The Experimental Dance Ensemble, and the Cleveland Opera.

Currently she is Assistant Director of the Ballet Department at the Loudoun School of Ballet.

She is certified with the Cecchetti Council where she has passed all of her teacher’s exams with honors.

The Loudoun Ballet Company was formed in 1978 by Sheila Hoffmann-Robertson so that her students at the Loudoun School of Ballet could have the opportunity to perform regularly in front of audiences, thereby developing a sense of theatricality as well as technique.
