Shades of Beauty
Loudoun Ballet Company will present our new production "Shades of Beauty" in Spring 2010.
Featuring stunning new costumes, Princess Aurora and the fairies from "The Sleeping Beauty",
original work choreographed by LBC’s artistic staff, and the Loudoun debut of the classic ballet
scene "Kingdom of the Shades"-
the program is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
"Kingdom of the Shades" is the most revered Act from "La Bayadere".
It features the mesmerizing descent of dancers onto the stage to the music of Minkus.
Requiring precision and elegance, "Kingdom of the Shades" including the ethereal scarf pas de deux and demanding soloist variations,
will be a breathtaking classical vision.
Selections from "The Sleeping Beauty" will also be performed as well as original works from Maureen Miller, Artistic Director,
and Lisa Startsman, Ballet Mistress. Also returning to the delight of Loudoun audiences as guest artist is Norbert Nirewicz.
