"Deep in the Forest" - Illustration by Penny Hauffe Deep in the Forest

Deep in the Forest, an original story ballet created by Artistic Director Maureen Miller, premiered in the spring of 2005 with rave reviews. Deep in the Forest tells the story of a fairy princess, her unicorn, a pesky dragon and host of woodland characters that are bound to charm audiences of all ages with its happy ending and moral lesson.

The inspiration for Deep in the Forest came from her fairy collection, which numbers about 100 pieces; many of which were gifts from ballet students over the years.

"The ballet, created entirely by Miller from story idea to script to choreography and choice of music, takes the magic a step further, into fantasy."
Washington Post

"An absolutely delightful introduction to the performing arts for young children, yet sophisticated enough for any adult."
