The Nutcracker The Nutcracker - Costume Policy

• Costumes required for performances are
supplied by the Company.

• Shoes, tights, and undergarments, unless
otherwise specified, are the responsibility of the individual dancer.

• Costume fitting appointments are required for
each performance. Times and locations are posted on The Company bulletin board and may, or may not, coincide with rehearsals.

• Final decisions regarding design and fit of costumes are made by the
Artistic Director.

• Cleaning, storage, and general upkeep of Company costumes are the
responsibility of The Company.

• Dancers are required to report any costume problems immediately to the Wardrobe Mistress. This includes
stains, loose snaps, broken zippers, seam rips etc. Dancers are asked not to repair, alter, or wash costumes without permission of the Wardrobe Mistress.

• Dancers are required to report any costume losses immediately to the Wardrobe Mistress. This includes any
costume part, headpiece, accessory, or prop. Dancers are liable for the full replacement costs.

• Dancers are asked to transport Company costumes, at all times, in the plastic garment bags provided by the
Company.

• Dancers are requested to refrain from smoking, drinking, and eating while in costume.

• Costumes are the property of the Company and may not be used for any purposes other than specified by the
Company.

• There is to be no exchange of costumes with other dancers without advance approval of the Wardrobe Mistress.

• Dancers are responsible for providing their own cover-up (large button down shirt, cape, or other article not
required to go over the head) to be worn over costumes during times when you are not actually performing and during application of make-up and hairdressing.
