History
The Loudoun Ballet Company was formed in 1978 by Sheila Hoffmann-Robertson so that her students at the The Loudoun School of Ballet could have the opportunity to perform regularly in front of audiences, thereby developing a sense of theatricality as well as technique.
In 1988, the Company established by-laws, formed a board of directors, and was incorporated as a non-profit performing arts organization.
In 1994, the LBC made the formal and complete transition to an independent regional youth ballet. The Loudoun Ballet Company's well-deserved reputation for excellence has now spread throughout the larger dance community, gaining international recognition.
Loudoun Ballet Company's vision is to develop, support, and nurture classically trained dancers by offering them high quality, professional dance experience.
